Corrective exercise is a complimentary care solution for pain relief and injury
rehabilitation. If your car is giving you problems, you go to a mechanic; if your body is giving you problems come see a "muscle mechanic".
Corrective exercise is an no-nonsense form of personal care
designed to quickly relieve pain and properly realign bones and joints. I use movement assessments to identify overactive and under-active muscles, and then apply corrective treatments to bring your body back into optimal condition. Corrective exercise is not new, nor is it based on any belief system; in fact it is extremely straight-forward and easy to understand.
Try it for Yourself; most clients walk away feeling "amazed", "relieved", or both!
1 on 1 sessions are available Monday through Friday in Lodi, Middleton, and Fitchburg call 608.448.5191 to schedule
Testimonial:
"The one on one corrective exercise work I did with Scott was beneficial to me in several ways. The past 10 years or so, I had some health issues and did not maintain fitness, other than walking. The past 3+ years, even this had become painful, making me reluctant to even do that. I knew I needed help to restore proper posture and gait. Over the six sessions we had together, Scott worked closely with me. He released several trigger points and gave me exercises and stretching routines to help increase flexibility and range of motion. The exercises were geared to my specific needs, and set to a pace that would 'push' me some, but not discourage me. Over the 4 weeks we had sessions together, I noticed several improvements that are very encouraging. " Julie, in Fitchburg

Within 1 to 5 weeks you will optimize the way you look and move!
Once you get going, a corrective
exercise practice can be as undemanding as 10 minutes of pleasant
exercises done every 3 out of 7 days. When
you begin, plan for a half hour or more of corrective exercises at home
every other day.
Custom Corrective Care Programs
can be completed in three weeks to two months!
Pain Remover
Learn how to effectively eliminate pain, tension and
restricted movement in the shoulder and neck region, mid and low back, and/or
the hips, knees ankles and feet. Build up strength to stabilize and support
your everyday movements and regain freedom and ease of movement you may not
have thought possible.
New Mothers
Your body has changed to support the birth process and now
you lift and carry your bundle of joy every day. What are the best ways to lift
and carry your child? How do you regain the balance and mobility you once knew?
Every woman’s body and birth process are different, yet there are similarities
too. Learn how to return your hips and back into alignment and protect yourself
from injury as your baby grows larger and heavier.
Dance Enhancer
Posture, stability, and mobility are key elements to
dancing—and each can be challenging if your body lacks tone or strength, or has
not fully recovered from an injury. Learn simple exercises that activate weak
muscles and stretches that target typically overactive muscles that restrict
your full range of movement and undermine your ability to perform. This program
shows you how to get the most out of warm-up time and eliminates time-wasting
stretches that do not maximize your performance abilities.
Corrective Exercise
for Young People
Growing bodies need to be aligned properly; correcting
physical impairments early-on can lead to reduced problems in adulthood. If
your kids are playing sports, have suffered injury in the past, or are out
of shape in any way, then they will benefit from a low intensity corrective
workout just as an adult would. Young athletes tend to focus on strengthening
major muscle groups, and often neglect balanced development strategies. Similarly,
they are at greater risk for ankle, knee and shoulder injuries if they play
sports. This Corrective Exercise program will help prevent injuries that can
undermine their potential for the rest of their lives. Get a head start on body
awareness and proper exercise technique so you can rest assured you have done
all you can to help your kids get the most out of sports.
If you've tried other wellness modalities
like massage therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, or yoga and you still
hurt, corrective exercise may be ideal; it is complementary to all the
above practices and similarly priced. You can discover for yourself how effective it is. Corrective exercise requires very little equipment. Recommended items are inexpensive and easy-to-use tools like resistance bands, stair steps, and floor mats. Rarely will you break a sweat during a corrective exercise session. So, as long as your clothes allow free movement, you do not need special clothes to work out in; (do avoid wearing skirts to your assessment though.) nnn
When done under professional guidance, these exercises are able to decrease joint stress and ease your body back into a natural balance with optimized posture and alignment—yet they are so basic they may be attempted by people who are aged, infirm, overweight, or who need special care after an injury. Corrective exercise is appropriate for children and is an ideal place to start if you want to get back in shape with aerobics, running or weight lifting.
Even
if it has it been months, years, or decades, your soft-tissue problems
(also known as movement impairments) may be fixed without surgical intervention through corrective exercise. The more you know about
corrective exercise, the sooner you will rediscover your potential to
run, dance, play with children or just complete your daily chores and
still feel the best you have in years.
Best of all, every time you come in for an appointment, you will learn the essential methods of self-correction needed to restore muscles to their optimal condition, and eventually you will no longer need to come in. Once you are capable of safely maintaining yourself you'll be busy enjoying your fitter and more functional body and, hopefully, a renewed and optimistic outlook on life as well!
